We're off to see the wizard
In 1953 "The Wizard of OZ" was re-released and became the subject of a lengthy class discussion. Our third grade teacher Miss Schwartz gave each member of the class a homework assignment to draw the five main characters. My next door neighbor Joe Hencir worked for the telephone company and had given me some old engineering drawings. I used the backs to create these 2 ft. by 3 ft. crayon drawings. Recently discovered, I framed them and put them on display at Yankee. After all of the years and all of the moves, It's something of a miracle they survived.
